At the risk of sounding repetitive, Biosphere Expeditions has won yet another environment award. This time it's the Umwelt-Online-Award (Environment-Online-Award). With its patron the German Minister for the Environment and run by the German Federal Workgroup for Environmentally-aware Management (Bundesdeutscher Arbeitskreis für Umweltbewußtes Management = BAUM), this prize is awarded to businesses and organisations with an online presence who have displayed excellence and best practice for the environment. BAUM was founded by a group of Hamburg merchants in 1984 and today is Europe's largest business initiative for the environment. Jürgen Trittin, German Minister for the Environment and award patron, thinks the award by "engaging ordinary people, the public and private sectors in discussion about the environment" achieves something "close to his heart" and Dr. Matthias Hammer, founder of Biosphere Expeditions, is delighted that "our work for the environment has received yet another prestigious accolade, this time from Germany".
